Our Honey

Our honey is harvested seasonally – Spring, Summer, and Fall – to bring out the distinct floral flavors and aromas that are representative of West Central Ohio wildflowers. Busy Bee Apiaries is unique because you are buying honey directly from the beekeeper with no packers or processors involved that can spoil the delight. With our flavored honey’s we use only natural ingredients that provide great flavor.  We never add sweeteners or preservatives that could mask the unique flavors and take away from the hard work that our bees have put into our sweet treats.

Busy Bee Apiaries produces pure, raw honey from Russia (Roo-Shee), Ohio (Shelby County). Our honey is never pasteurized or high-pressure filtered, so it retains all the vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and antibacterial properties that raw honey is known for.

Just like fine wine, honey only gets better with time!!  All raw honey (honey fresh from the beehive) will granulate (get cloudy and thick) in time. This is natural and does not mean the honey has "gone bad", as honey does not spoil. Simply heat the container in a hot pot of water to re-liquify it, Or you can embrace the new texture and enjoy it in a whole new way.  Here are a few thoughts for your newly discovered candy:  1) Use it as a sugar substitute.  Honey is actually sweeter than table sugar, so start with a ratio of 3/4 cup honey = 1 cup sugar.  2)  Schmear it on toast or bagels for a candy-like topping.  3)  Stir it in your hot beverage.  It will disappear like magic!!  Available in all your favorite flavors, you're sure to find a whole new side to honey!!

(We recommend not heating honey over 100 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent the loss of flavor, enzymes, and nutritional benefits)
